Have a busy schedule with work and family? Want to increase your activity throughout the day? Working on changing your eating habits? If you answered yes to any of these questions, you might be wondering how to balance it all. With the help of our friends at Polar, we’re showing you how to balance life, fitness and nutrition.
Making time for fitness and proper nutrition is tough! Especially with a full time job. Or school. Or kids. Or all three. But that’s life, right? We’re expected to do it all and then some, right?
Not exactly. No one has the time to do everything each and everyday (and if you do, we’re interested in how you acquired these super powers). We’re only human. The key is finding a healthy balance. With a few tips, a little bit of guidance and some powerful fitness tools, you’ll be well on your way to balancing life, fitness and nutrition.
If you’re looking for balance, setting goals is essential. After all, how can you get to your destination if you don’t know where you’re going? If your goal is weight loss, have a number in mind, or at least a ballpark range. This will make it easier to determine things like what exercises to do and how often. If your goal is more fitness oriented (like reaching a new PR), set small, tangible goals within a set timeframe to get there. Both the Polar Balance and Polar A360 are incredible tools for reaching your fitness goals, and even work together to track weight management and fitness progress. Speaking of goals – the Polar 30 Day Challenge is coming up! That’s 26 workouts, 26 meal ideas, and 4 days of rest. Now that’s a goal worth setting!
Don’t Beat Yourself Up!
We all have days where we just can’t do it all – and that’s okay. It’s okay to be tired. It’s okay to sleep in. It’s okay that you ate out because you were short on time. What’s not okay is making a habit of these things. It’s also not beneficial to stress about it. We all have off days and the only thing you can do is to pick back up the next day.
Track Your Progress
This is probably the best way to keep the momentum going. There’s nothing like seeing the number on the scale dip after weeks of hard work, or increasing the weight during your favorite strength workout. Keep track of your progress big and small. Having a couple tools handy isn’t a bad idea, either. This will make tracking your progress way easier and a lot more fun. The Polar A360 and Polar Balance work seamlessly together to help you make the most of your training sessions and remind you of your fitness goals. They even sync with the Polar Flow app to display your day-to-day progress.
Has your love of fitness gotten in the way of spending time with friends and family? Or have your healthy eating habits made it more difficult to dine with company? Been there. Done that. Instead of making fitness and health all about “me time,” find ways to include your social circle. For example, next time you attend or host a dinner gathering, bring your favorite healthy dish. For a fun and social workout, encourage your friends/spouse/kids to sign up for a 5k, group workout class, or a fitness challenge.
Ask For Help
There’s nothing wrong with getting a little help from your friends. But the real help will come from your fitness trackers and devices. By offering motivational guidance on how to reach your daily activity goal, the Polar Flow app will act as your personal cheerleader as you work towards your goals. But first you’ll need a Polar A360 – which is basically like having a personal trainer attached to your wrist – including support and encouragement with every step.
