I’m the type of person who is constantly thinking about food. After breakfast I ask myself “what’s my midmorning snack?” After lunch I think “Hmm, what could I have around 3pm to hold me over ’til dinner?” In other words, I’m food-obsessed. But for those of us who are watching our weight (or carbs, calories, or anything else), it’s not always easy to allow ourselves that snack between meals.
Snacks are 100% O.K. – I promise. Just as long as they are healthy snacks. All too often I scour my pantry and am left empty handed. Either I’m literally out of food or the snacks I have on hand don’t fall in line with my health goals (ice cream and chips that mysteriously end up in my house after my husband does the shopping).
