Find Your Why.
You’ve likely heard the term.
Why should you? Do you need a why?
The answer is a resounding YES.
You need a why for any goal you set in life. It’s fairly easy for most people to set a goal, but following through becomes a whole different ball game when the initial motivation wears off. Think about a time you’ve been fired up about something, fitness related or not. Did the motivation and fire that you had when you started last? Did you complete that goal? For many, goals set become book-shelved and forgotten or easily dismissed because they lacked a solid WHY.
Your “why” for any goal has to come from a place that cannot be stomped out. It’s the thing you cannot forget, the thing that gets you up in the morning and lights your feet on fire when you get to work towards it. It can’t be surface level. It’s the thing that’s deep within your heart. For me, the desire to change my life came when I was fed up with feeling dead tired, grumpy and feeling lackluster about everyday life. I wanted to LIVE, to have passion to be energetic and fun with my kids. To not feel like a failure every day. And then I went to work peeling back the onion layers of these feelings to get to the core of why each of these reasons was worth the work, worth the effort and the follow through.
So I encourage you to try just that.
If you don’t know your why, you can start working on it right now in various areas of your life. Get the main goal, and then start digging in. Why do you want to hit said goal? Then keep working down to the very core to find and outline every reason. I promise you the work on this is worth every amount of thought you’ll give it.
