A few weeks ago I got to spend four days walking the ABC Kids Expo looking at what is new in the juvenile industry world! From fashion to teethers, strollers to fitness there were over ten miles of maternity, baby, and kid gear being showcased!
I found five fresh FitFluential finds you won’t want to miss if you are a new mother or expecting a baby soon!
After struggling to swallow pills during my second pregnancy I was excited to find Premama Prenatals at the expo. Premama is a pill free pregnancy supplement mix, available in two options: Premama Essentials ($34) and Premama Plus ($44). These easy to take powdered prenatal supplements are designed to dissolve in most beverages or soft foods. The prenatal contains 30mg of Vitamin B6 which has been proven to help moms to be combat morning sickness, Vitamin B12 to help control fatigue, Ferrochel Gentle Iron to help minimize iron-induced constipation, and a revolutionary folate called Quatrefolic® which is actually more water soluble than other forms of folate. This allows the body to absorb more of what is recommended to fight neural tube defects.
The Premama Plus also contains Omega 3s which studies have shown to greatly support gestation and increase the likelihood of a full term birth. In short these prenatal supplements really make it easy for moms to get the nutritional support they need for healthy mom and baby!
Isabel and Ingrid Maternity Workout Gear:
I struggled with both my pregnancies to find a maternity workout pant that fit through my whole pregnancy. In fact I spent more money on active pants during my pregnancy than I did in the 3 years prior! After spotting these on the expo floor I can say I am actually excited to buy another pair of maternity active pants!
After over two years in the design room, the Isabel and Ingrid line of active maternity gear is truly revolutionary to the maternity fitness world. The patent pending unique crossover panel is designed to provide back to belly support for your growing belly over the nine months of pregnancy! In addition to providing support where the expecting mom needs it most, the open back allows air to flow and keeps mom and baby cooler while working out. Anti-microbial, moisture wicking, and 4-way stretch will make these active pants— available in knee ($68), capri ($78), and pant ($88) versions— a must have for any active mom’s maternity wardrobe.
This is a product I wish I had found in my 7th month of pregnancy with Baby D. I’m sure I got many a funny look holding my big old belly up while trying to get my workout in. Mom Bod Fitness created a unique maternity support band called the Fit Splint. The Fit Splint provides moms to be with general belly, back, ligament, and bladder support during pregnancy, and to splint the abdominal muscles after baby is born so that the connective tissues and muscles can correctly heal. The belt can be worn a few different ways and is breathable, completely adjustable, and slim fitting. Plus included in the $49 price moms will get 5 reCore exercises! This patent pending design was designed for moms by a mom who understands fitness and the support expectant and new moms need.
As a mom of two children I love finding products that allow me to share my love of an active lifestyle with my children. The Yepp Bike seat is hands down the most innovative and stylish bike seat I have ever seen. Designed to comply with both European and American standards of safety the Yepp comes in two sizes: Yepp Baby ($159) is for children ages 1-3 or 33 lbs, and Yepp Maxi ($199-$299) is for children 3-6 or 48lbs. Both seats come with a 5 point harness, footrests with foot guards, and reflectors for safety. They are extremely user friendly— easy to install/detach, anti-theft locks, lightweight build. Yepp also worked hard to create a seat that is comfortable for baby and stylish to boot!
No matter what stroller you purchase, the chances are that even with a large canopy your baby is still in the sun. I’m a bit of a stroller hoarder, and not one of my five strollers provides the sun coverage I need living in Las Vegas! The Snoozeshade Deluxe ($59) is a sun and sleep shade that protects your baby from the sun and provides an optimal environment for napping. The black shade panel reduces glare and UV rays by 80% while still allowing baby to look out on the world around them. The grey snooze panel blocks 97.5% of UV rays and blurs distractions from the outside world, allowing baby to rest while out and about. Plus the Snoozeshade is a one size fits all meaning that no matter which single stroller you use it on, you can get a great workout on without worrying about baby becoming overstimulated or too exposed to the sun.
