Born and raised in the Midwest, Lauren is a suburbanite by day but a city girl at heart. Her natural knack for the written word and never-ending curiosity led her to Columbia College Chicago, where she earned a degree in Magazine Journalism. This combined with her love for all things food, it was only natural that she began creating many of the nutrition and recipe-based posts found on FitFluential.com. While writing is her bread and butter, she is also a social media ninja who loves keeping up with our interconnected world of technology. She is often the voice behind our Facebook posts, as well as the occasional Twitter chat or weekly Vine. As an integral part of FitFluential’s marketing and customer success team, she can often be found leading launch calls, firing off emails, and ensuring the best possible experience for our customers. When she's not providing the latest info for health & wellness, she can be found in the kitchen whipping up delicious works of art, twisting and shouting at Zumba, or spending time with her husband and four-legged fur babies.

Chief Executive Officer & Founder
Before founding FitFluential, Kelly’s professional experience was primarily focused in corporate sales. For the better part of the past fifteen years, she has worked for tech startups, several small to medium-sized businesses, as well as Fortune 500 organizations. Her skilled tenacity produced strategic partnerships with companies such as: ConAgra, Orbitz, Travelocity, Marriott Hotels, Doubletree Hotels, Choice Hotels, Best Western, Microsoft, N.A.R., 7-ELEVEN, Valero Energy, SBC, Exxon/Mobil, Safety-Kleen, Sally Beauty, Halliburton, H&R Block, Sprint/Nextel, Brinker International, Carlson Restaurants, A.C.S, Lennox International, and Dean Foods among others.Change CAN be a good thing. When the company where Kelly was employed declared bankruptcy in October of 2008, that unexpected "time off" provided the ideal timing for a lesson in Social Media 101. While Kelly had been blogging since 2007, it wasn’t until she lost her job that this blog and her videos on YouTube began gaining a significant audience. Kelly’s natural on-camera presence and charisma landed her a spot as one of 100 Ford Fiesta Agents for the Ford Fiesta Movement in April 2009. In August 2010, Kelly became a member of the Sears(R) FitStudio team (FitStudio.com), creating weekly content and motivating others to get FIT! In 2011, Kelly joined Polar as an ambassador for their superior Heart Rate Monitors and other fitness measurement devices. In November of 2009, Kelly accepted a position in business development for a social media agency, where she worked for two years. After working in an agency and speaking at numerous social media conferences and blogger conferences, Kelly saw that although many other verticals had been tapped, no one had effectively collected the sizable fitness audience into a formal network. After doing her research, Kelly decided that she was ideally suited to bring this idea to fruition. She had witnessed first-hand with other networks what was being done well, what was being done poorly and what wasn’t being done at all. Not only was a fitness network not in place, but to form a network was only one part of the equation. Kelly recognized that her network could effectively bridge the gap between bloggers/influencers and brands. There was far more to do beyond just connecting a brand to a blogger. Because Kelly is a blogger and a fitness enthusiast, she knows the language. She knows what works and what won’t work and can thus be a much more effective partner for both the brand and the influencer. In April 2011, FitFluential was founded. In August of 2011, Kelly resigned her position in the agency world to focus on the FitFluential family full time.
