Paleo foods are quite simple. Fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds, meat and poultry, and all that good stuff. There are plenty of options when you look at the different varieties you can make with these ingredients! Chicken, steak, and yes, BACON, is all fair game on the paleo diet. Leafy green vegetables such as asparagus, broccoli, and spinach are all staples, and any type of nut, seed, or fruit is allowed. Seafood? Yep, you can have all of that. Shrimp, scallops, and salmon? What you should not eat on a paleo diet is anything that can cause inflammation in the body. There are the obvious culprits, such as gluten and dairy, and there are some less obvious ones such as legumes and soy. Also on the list of taboo foods are added sugars – or, sugar of any kind. No preservatives or scary ingredients, and processed foods should be kept to the absolute minimum.
