Nothing makes you feel better than eating real, wholesome foods. We’ve teamed up with Larabar, the Original Fruit & Nut Food bars, to show you how you can eat real food, from breakfast to dinner. While the ingredient facts about Larabar are true, the opinions and Larabar love we’re sharing are totally ours.
Want to feel your absolute best? It all starts with food. It’s proven that what you eat directly affects your health, your immune system, and can even prevent disease. The best way to take care of your body is to feed it! By consuming real, whole foods daily, you’ll notice an incredible difference in your energy levels, your overall well-being, and you just might drop a couple pounds in the process.
So what does eating real food look like? With Larabar, it means following the philosophy that the foundation of a sound mind, body and spirit is derived from what you eat – and what you eat is most delicious and satisfying when it’s in a whole, natural state. Focus on simple ingredients and read on for how you can incorporate real foods into every part of your day.
One rule of thumb I like to remember for breakfast is to start my day with a fruit or vegetable. Or both! Think about your usual breakfast and how you can upgrade it with real food. Some of my favorite options include plain greek yogurt with a crumbled up Cherry Pie Larabar – which contains just cherries, dates and almonds – or scrambled eggs with spinach and onions, if I’m craving something more savory.
Whether you pack a lunch for the office or cook at home, the real food options are a-plenty. While salads are an obvious choice (just watch your dressings!), there are other choices that pack a superfood punch! Soups are a delicious way to incorporate green vegetables like kale or spinach into your meal. Meal prep brown rice, sweet potatoes, chicken, and veggies so that you can mix and match your lunch throughout the week.
A healthy snack is something that is relatively low in calories, with a good proportion of nutrients to hold you over until your next meal. Avoid snacks with added or artificial sugars, instead opting for naturally sweetened items like fruit or Larabars. Each Larabar is 100% vegan, kosher and non-GMO, and made with 2-9 ingredients depending on the flavor. You can count on Larabar for a real food snack that’s delicious and easily portable.
For a real food dinner, focus on protein and vegetables. I’m a huge fan of stir frys because they’re so easy to make and you can include a variety of wholesome ingredients! Saute some chicken, bell pepper, onion and broccoli in coconut oil for a dish that’s full of flavor and health. If salads are your meal of choice, try spring mix and top with grilled shrimp, walnuts, dried cranberries and balsamic vinegar.
You know the benefits of eating real food, but don’t keep it to yourself- let’s #ShareRealFood!
