How To Make a Goal and Stick To It
The most important thing to remember about goal setting is to be specific. Let’s say you want to lose weight. Saying, “my goal is to lose weight” leaves too much open-ended. Demi Lovato once said, “what’s wrong with being confident?!” And when it comes to goal-setting, I couldn’t agree more. Instead of saying “I want to” or “I would like to,” say “I WILL.” Claim that goal and know already that you’re going to accomplish it! Say “I will lose 8 lbs by March 31st, and I will do it by attending 4 kickboxing classes per week and eating a plant-based diet.” Now that’s a goal if I ever heard one.

Write it down
Don’t keep all of those brilliant thoughts stuck in your head, write them down! When you write down your goal, it becomes more real. Instead of just an idea, it becomes tangible. On paper, that goal is now something you can see that will remind you of where you want to go. Tape that piece of paper to your refrigerator door, to your bathroom mirror, or anywhere else that you’ll see it regularly. As a typical millenial, I check my phone constantly. What I like to do is make a wallpaper for my lockscreen that has my goal on it! That way, every time I check my phone, I’m reminded of my goal. In fact, here’s one for you to use!
