In today’s competitive health and fitness environment, the name of the game is customer satisfaction, right?! And what better way to increase satisfaction and build loyalty than to attend a gym that offers online convenience and the best technology. Most of us, if not all of us, want to workout in a gym that knows their customer and is up to date with the fitness and technology trends.
Gyms that offer mobile access to sign up for a class in advance, find out what classes are on the schedule, who the instructor is, personal workout scheduler, equipment sign up, childcare, etc. are wonderful features which will keep you on track and accountable. From talking to several of my clients and students, I know they love using their gym apps on their smart phones. It keeps them organized, consistent, and excited about going to the gym. My clients also have shared that having access to their gym app keeps them updated on everything that is happening at their gym. They love being in “the know!” They also are able to provide the gym feedback regarding their satisfaction. This can usually be done either linking through the gym’s social media channels or even rating your favorite class on the app itself.
So, are you using your gym mobile app? Or do you need to find an app that can be compatible to where and how you exercise? If your gym doesn’t have their own app, there are so many other fitness apps to help you reach your goals. So, make sure you sit down and make a list of what you need the app to do. To help you, here are my ‘must haves’ for the best app:
1) Tracking tools: log workouts, count calories eaten, and collect stats to see overtime how I am improving.
2) Goal setter: set my own goals and maintain a pace that is right for me.
3) Scheduler: reserve my spot in my favorite exercise classes and then calendar them with notifications to remind me that it is workout time!
4) Social Media: link to my channels to share my favorite classes, apparel, instructors, etc. This will help build the fitness community and keep everyone on track!
5) What’s New?: latest fitness trends and everything new when it comes to fitness and dance!
Have I wooed you enough yet to get you Tracking Everything Fitness? Lets forget clipboards and paper for equipment and class sign ups as that was so last year; think about how much happier you will be once you delve into using your gym app as you reserve a bike, a treadmill, or even a massage (if there is a spa) just by using your smart phone. This is giving you the convenience with the familiar technology you love. Don’t forget to sign up in advance by registering online for your favorite classes. If you get into the habit of doing this, I bet you will be more likely to attend as you have made more than a mental commitment.
